S–01Interior Architecture
Interior architecture in Westminster and across London
What this service is
Interior architecture is the practice of sensitively and innovatively redesigning an existing interior while respecting its historical value. It sits between architecture and interior design: we replan layouts, move walls and openings, and detail every surface, so the space works structurally, legally and beautifully.
Most of our work starts with a building that already exists — a Victorian terrace, a Grade II listed flat, a tired office, an Italian wine cellar. The job is to find the best possible layout inside it, then prove that layout is technically feasible before anyone picks up a hammer.
Every commission begins with a carefully considered space-planning exercise. We test options, check them against building regulations and planning constraints, and only then move on to finishes, lighting and furniture.

FAQ
Interior Architecture: your questions
What is the difference between an interior architect and an interior designer?
An interior designer mainly works with finishes, furniture and decoration. An interior architect also changes the structure of the interior: moving walls, adding en-suites, replanning circulation and producing the technical drawings needed for builders, building control and planning. Natalia offers both, so one person carries the design from layout to cushions.
Can you work on listed buildings?
Yes. Natalia has secured consent for changes to a Grade II listed building built in 1897 and delivered The Bath House inside a listed building in London. We prepare the drawings and justification that conservation officers expect and design alterations that respect the original fabric.
Do you work on commercial interiors as well as homes?
Yes. Projects include a council office in Basingstoke, The Bath House and Banya No1 day spa in London, and a restaurant in St Petersburg. Our expertise covers new-build homes, residential refurbishment, and government and commercial interiors.
